Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, Josh graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with a corporate finance emphasis from Colorado State University. Afterwards, he attended law school at the University of Denver – Sturm College of Law where he received his Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Corporate and Commercial Law.
While in law school, Josh was a Senior Staff Editor for the Denver University Law Review and during that time had a comment published (SEC v. Shields: For Investors, A Bad Presumption Yields Bad Results, 92 Denv. U. L. Rev. 539 (2015)). Josh received the Hartje Objective Writing Award for best memorandum in Lawyering Process I and the Scholastic Excellence Award for highest academic performance in Lawyering Process I.
Prior to joining VandenBout Law, Josh spent 18 years in legal & compliance in the finance industry where he performed detailed document review, analysis of industry rules and law, and risk management.
